Introduction

This FxPro review answers a simple question: should you trust this broker with your money? Based on publicly available information as of October 23, 2026, the answer is a qualified yes. The qualifier matters, because safety depends on which FxPro entity holds your account. Under our four-factor methodology, FxPro scores 76.9 out of 100.

FxPro, operated by FxPro UK Limited and registered in the United Kingdom, holds an active authorisation with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under registration number 509956. The broker operates its retail platform at https://www.fxpro.com. FxPro Group Limited, the holding company, dates to 2006, and public sources name Charalambos Psimolophitis as chief executive. The group also runs entities in Cyprus, South Africa and the Bahamas, and it says it serves clients in more than 170 countries. It matters now because few CFD brokers pair an FCA licence with MT4, MT5, cTrader and a proprietary app. Our final classification is Silver Standard.

Regulation & Safety

Yes, FxPro is regulated, and the strongest oversight comes from the FCA in the UK and CySEC in Cyprus. Protection weakens for clients placed under the Bahamas or Seychelles entities.

Is FxPro legit? Based on publicly available information, yes. FxPro regulated status, however, varies by legal entity. Under our four floor tests (activity licensing, product controls, capital safeguards and enforcement oversight), the FCA and CySEC qualify as Tier 1. The South African FSCA sits in Tier 2. The Bahamas SCB and Seychelles FSA sit in Tier 3.

Is FxPro safe for your deposit? Company disclosures say client money sits in segregated accounts at banks such as Barclays, Julius Baer and Royal Bank of Scotland. FxPro also says PwC audits its financial reports. It offers negative balance protection to all clients, but its terms condition that cover on good-faith trading. The 1:30 leverage cap matches the ESMA baseline for major currency pairs. Third-party sources cite limits up to 1:500 under offshore entities, and those figures vary by source.

Several warnings deserve attention. The FCA published a warning in December 2024 against “Expert5 FxPro,” an unauthorised firm using a lookalike name. These impostors are not FxPro. FxPro does not accept US residents. One aggregator records the DFSA licence for FxPro Global Markets MENA Limited (F003333) as withdrawn on February 27, 2020. We could not confirm that on the DFSA register. Since July 2026, forum users have alleged that FxPro moved their accounts to a Costa Rica entity to sidestep CySEC and FSCA oversight. Those claims remain unverified, and FxPro’s licences page does not list that entity. That page, as we retrieved it, lists only the FCA, SCB and Seychelles entities. CySEC and FSCA details come from FxPro corporate descriptions, so verify them on the official registers.

Execution Quality & Trading Costs

FxPro’s execution speed lands near retail industry norms, and its ECN pricing matches peer averages. Its commission-free Standard account costs noticeably more per lot.

One independent test measured 50 ms on both MT4 and MT5, against a common retail benchmark of under 100 ms. A second comparison recorded market orders at 138 ms, ranking 16th of 36 brokers, and limit orders at 151 ms, ranking 23rd of 36. FxPro’s own marketing, repeated by Benzinga, claims most orders fill in under 13 ms. We treat that as a corporate claim. We found no verified negative slippage percentage. Testers describe low requotes on Standard accounts and none on ECN accounts. We also found no verified data on stability during high-impact news. One source records a maximum EURUSD spread of 13.2 pips against a 0.99 pip average, roughly 13 times the norm.

AccountExecution ModelAverage EURUSD SpreadCommission per Lot
MT4 / MT5 StandardSTP, market executionAbout 1.4 pipsNone
cTrader / ECN RawECN/STPAbout 0.2 pips$3 to $3.50 per side, depending on source

Traders Union lists a 0.2 pip ECN average for FxPro against an industry average of 0.17 pips. It lists a $3 commission against a $3.50 industry average. The same source estimates one lot costs about $5 on ECN and $13 on Standard during peak hours. The Standard account therefore costs about 2.6 times more per lot.

FxPro fees outside trading are modest. Deposits and withdrawals carry no FxPro charge, though banks and payment providers may add their own. Inactivity charges are less clear. Public sources cite either a $15 one-off fee followed by $5 monthly after six months, or $15 monthly. Check the current client terms. One peer comparison lists a $60 monthly inactivity fee at MultiBank, so FxPro sits at the lower end either way.

Trader Reputation & Market Presence

Public sentiment on FxPro is mixed, with a long operating record offset by recurring withdrawal complaints.

Trustpilot snapshots we reviewed showed 2.8 to 3.0 out of 5 across roughly 760 to 780 reviews, at or just below the 3.0 midpoint.

Under our four-factor methodology, we reviewed publicly available regulatory disclosures, independent review platforms and trader feedback. We then cross-examined retail claims against documented enforcement actions. We found no FxPro-specific fines in our searches. Cypriot penalties against “FXFINPRO” involve a different firm, so readers should not confuse the names.

Positive themes recur. Reviewers praise free deposits and withdrawals, platform choice and 24/5 support. Others report smooth withdrawals. Negative themes recur as well. Some traders describe delayed payouts, with one review citing three to five business days. Others report inconsistent support quality. FxPro replies that withdrawals must return to the original funding method under anti-money-laundering rules. It has also said spreads can widen in low-liquidity periods such as midnight. We found no verified evidence of systematic payout blocks, but unverified forum complaints about account entity reassignment persist.

Strengths & Weaknesses

FxPro Review: Strengths and Safety Profile

  • Tier 1 oversight: FCA and CySEC licences, against Tier 3 registries at many offshore peers
  • Platform choice: Four platforms, versus one or two at many CFD peers
  • Competitive ECN pricing: 0.2 pips plus $3 per lot, against a 0.17 pip and $3.50 industry average
  • Low entry barrier: $100 minimum deposit
  • Fee transparency on funding: No FxPro deposit or withdrawal fee

FxPro Review: Weaknesses and Cost Considerations

  • Entity-dependent safety: Tier 1 cover applies only to FCA and CySEC clients
  • Costly Standard account: About $13 per lot, against $5 on ECN
  • Inactivity fee: $15 one-off or monthly, depending on source, versus no fee at some peers
  • Mixed reputation: 2.8 to 3.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot, at or below the 3.0 midpoint
  • Limited support hours: 24/5 only, with no weekend coverage

Overall Verdict

FxPro earns a composite score of 76.9 out of 100, which places it in the Silver Standard band. We report the highest entity-level score, which belongs to FxPro UK Limited under FCA oversight. Offshore entities would score lower.

The platform suits UK and EU retail traders who want multi-platform CFD access and a Tier 1 licence. It fits traders who open ECN accounts and trade often enough to avoid inactivity charges. It fits poorly for clients who would be placed under the Bahamas, Seychelles or any non-FCA, non-CySEC entity. Among immediate peers, such as the IC Markets and Pepperstone accounts one tester used for comparison, FxPro offers stronger regulation than many offshore rivals but not the lowest costs.

FxPro is a Silver Standard, FCA- and CySEC-regulated CFD broker whose safety depends on which legal entity holds the client’s account.

Expert Review Notes (Staff Insight)

Corporate layering is the main nuance. The FxPro brand covers at least five entities across the UK, Cyprus, South Africa, the Bahamas and the Seychelles. Clients should read the client agreement to see which entity they contract with. Staff also flagged the unverified Costa Rica allegations, which make that check essential.

Marketing language needs context. “Fully segregated” funds and “negative balance protection” appear prominently. The protection, however, carries a good-faith condition, and compensation schemes apply only to FCA and CySEC clients. Meanwhile, speed claims such as 13 ms contrast with third-party tests of 50 ms to 138 ms.

Data quality varies across aggregators. Sites list conflicting SCB numbers (SIA-F184, SIA-F212, SIA-F217), conflicting FSCA numbers (45052 and 45084) and founding years of 1999 and 2006. We relied on FxPro’s own disclosures where available. On routing, FxPro describes a no-dealing-desk model. We could not independently verify order routing, so traders should test with small positions first.
